What's the difference between IgE and IgG allergy testing?
IgE measures immediate hypersensitivity โ true allergies that cause reactions within minutes to hours (sneezing, hives, anaphylaxis). IgG measures delayed sensitivity reactions that occur 3โ72 hours later (fatigue, bloating, brain fog). This panel is IgE-only, detecting true allergic reactions.
How does the dried blood spot (DBS) collection work?
The kit includes a lancet for a simple finger prick and a special collection card. You place a few drops of blood onto the card, let it dry, and mail it back in the prepaid envelope. No phlebotomist or lab visit needed. Results are as reliable as traditional serum testing.
