Overview

Hydroquinone + Kojic Acid

Triamcinolone + Tretinoin

Diamond Delux Plus S is a Kligman-class brightening formula combining two tyrosinase inhibitors, a potent corticosteroid, and a retinoid. This combination targets melanin synthesis, post-inflammatory cytokine activity, and epidermal cell turnover simultaneously for accelerated correction of melasma and refractory hyperpigmentation.

Mechanism of Action

Hydroquinone inhibits tyrosinase to suppress melanin biosynthesis. Kojic acid provides additive tyrosinase inhibition via copper chelation. Triamcinolone suppresses the inflammatory cytokine cascade driving post-inflammatory melanocyte activation and reduces irritation from the other actives. Tretinoin accelerates epidermal cell turnover, disperses keratinocyte melanin granules, and enhances penetration of co-actives into the stratum basale.

Topical Application

Applied to affected areas as directed.

Benefits

Depigmentation

Hydroquinone and kojic acid combine for dual-mechanism tyrosinase inhibition targeting melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Cell Turnover

Tretinoin accelerates epidermal renewal, disperses melanin granules, and enhances the skin penetration of co-actives.

Inflammation Control

Triamcinolone suppresses the post-inflammatory immune response that sustains excess melanocyte activity between treatments.

Tolerance

Triamcinolone reduces the retinoid and hydroquinone irritation common with high-potency brightening regimens, improving adherence.

Does Diamond Delux require a prescription?

Yes. This formula contains hydroquinone, triamcinolone, and tretinoin, all requiring a valid prescription from a licensed provider.

Tretinoin may cause peeling, erythema, and photosensitivity. Triamcinolone may cause skin atrophy and hypopigmentation with prolonged use. Hydroquinone may cause mild irritation or paradoxical darkening if used for extended periods.

Who should not use Diamond Delux?

Not for use during pregnancy due to tretinoin. Not for patients with active facial infections, rosacea, or known hypersensitivity to any component. Triamcinolone use requires caution in patients with a history of corticosteroid sensitivity.
