Overview

Cyclobenzaprine + Diclofenac + Lidocaine

Three independent mechanisms targeting musculoskeletal pain simultaneously: skeletal muscle spasm, local tissue inflammation, and afferent nerve pain signaling. Topical delivery concentrates active levels at the site of pain while minimizing systemic exposure relative to oral equivalents.

Mechanism of Action

Cyclobenzaprine acts centrally at the brainstem to reduce tonic somatic motor activity, relieving skeletal muscle spasm without acting directly at the neuromuscular junction. Diclofenac inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 and COX-2, blocking prostaglandin synthesis and reducing the local inflammatory cascade that drives pain, heat, and swelling at injury sites. Lidocaine stabilizes neuronal membranes by reversibly blocking voltage-gated sodium channels, preventing the initiation and conduction of afferent pain signals from the affected tissue.

Topical Application

Applied to affected areas as directed.

Benefits

Pain Relief

Targeting muscle spasm, inflammation, and nerve pain signals all at once, instead of just masking symptoms.

Reducing Inflammation

Gets to the root of what's causing the pain — shutting down the inflammatory process in the tissue itself, not just dulling the sensation from the outside.

Faster Healing

When inflammation and muscle spasm are controlled, your body can actually repair the damaged tissue. Less interference, faster recovery.

Muscle Relaxation

Breaks the pain-spasm cycle — where a muscle injury causes spasm, spasm causes more pain, and pain causes more spasm. Stops it at the source.

FAQs

What is Cyclobenzaprine Diclofenac Lidocaine?

Cyclobenzaprine Diclofenac Lidocaine is a prescription therapy used for pain and muscle support.

Who should use Cyclobenzaprine Diclofenac Lidocaine?

Patients seeking support for pain and muscle support may qualify after evaluation by a licensed provider.

Does Cyclobenzaprine / Diclofenac / Lidocaine Cream require a prescription?

Yes. All three actives are prescription-only at these concentrations. A valid prescription from a licensed provider is required.

What are the possible side effects?

Local skin reactions including redness, burning, or itching at the application site are the most common. Cyclobenzaprine may cause mild drowsiness with significant systemic absorption. Diclofenac applied over large areas or under occlusion carries a low risk of systemic NSAID effects. Lidocaine at therapeutic topical doses is well tolerated, but systemic toxicity (dizziness, tinnitus) is possible with excessive application.

Who should not use Cyclobenzaprine / Diclofenac / Lidocaine Cream?

Not for patients with known hypersensitivity to any component, active NSAIDs, or amide-type local anesthetics. Avoid in patients with severe hepatic impairment, aspirin-sensitive asthma, or active peptic ulcer disease. Not for use during the third trimester of pregnancy due to the diclofenac component.

Are there any drug interactions?

Diclofenac (topical) may interact with oral anticoagulants including warfarin and other NSAIDs at significant systemic absorption levels. Concurrent systemic cyclobenzaprine or CNS depressants are contraindicated due to additive sedative effects. Patients on MAO inhibitors must not use cyclobenzaprine-containing products.

Is Cyclobenzaprine / Diclofenac / Lidocaine Cream safe if I have a pre-existing medical condition?

Patients with hepatic impairment should use with caution given diclofenac's hepatic metabolism — liver function monitoring may be recommended. Patients with cardiovascular disease or a history of GI ulcers should discuss the diclofenac component with their provider. Patients with a history of seizure disorder should disclose prior to cyclobenzaprine use.
