AMPK O-304 is a prescription therapy used for metabolic support.
Patients seeking support for metabolic support may qualify after evaluation by a licensed provider.
Yes. O-304 is a compounded prescription medication that requires a valid prescription from a licensed provider. It is not available over the counter. Your provider will review your medical history and labs before prescribing to ensure it is appropriate for you.
The most commonly reported side effects are mild and transient, including gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, and loose stools — particularly during the first few weeks as your body adjusts. Some patients may experience mild fatigue or dizziness, especially if blood pressure or blood sugar drops below their baseline. Serious side effects are rare. Contact your provider if you experience signs of hypoglycemia, significant lightheadedness, or any unusual symptoms after starting.
Patients with severe liver disease, severe kidney disease, or uncontrolled hypotension should not use O-304. It is also not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients under 18, or anyone with a known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation. Patients on insulin or sulfonylureas require close provider monitoring before starting due to additive blood sugar-lowering effects.
The most clinically relevant drug interactions involve medications that also lower blood sugar — including insulin, metformin, and sulfonylureas. Combining these with O-304 may produce an additive effect and increase the risk of hypoglycemia, requiring dose adjustments. Patients on antihypertensive medications should also be monitored, as O-304 can further lower blood pressure. Inform your provider of all current medications before starting.
O-304 should be used with caution or avoided in patients with severe liver disease, severe kidney disease, hypotension, or active hypoglycemia. It is also not recommended for insulin-dependent diabetics on sulfonylureas without close monitoring, as its blood sugar-lowering effects can increase hypoglycemia risk when combined with those medications.
