Overview

Pharmacology

KPV binds MC1R and MC3R to trigger anti-inflammatory signaling independent of hormones. It inhibits NF-κB nuclear translocation, reducing IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-α, and other cytokines. It is orally bioavailable in the gut, acting directly on intestinal cells for mucosal inflammation, and topically reduces mast cell degranulation in skin.

Mechanism of Action

NF-κB inhibition reduces inflammatory signaling and cytokine activity, while MC1R and MC3R activation drives anti-inflammatory effects without hormonal involvement. It stabilizes mast cells to reduce histamine release and skin inflammation, penetrates the gut epithelium to directly target mucosal inflammation, provides antimicrobial activity against Candida albicans and Staphylococcus aureus, and suppresses IL-6, IL-1β, and TNF-α to lower systemic inflammatory burden.

Oral Capsules

FAQs

What is KPV?

KPV is a prescription therapy used for gut and inflammatory support.

Who should use KPV?

Patients seeking support for gut and inflammatory support may qualify after evaluation by a licensed provider.

Does KPV require a prescription?

Yes. KPV is a compounded peptide that requires a valid prescription from a licensed provider. A telehealth consultation and medical intake are required before dispensing to ensure KPV is appropriate for your health history, goals, and current medications.

What are the possible side effects?

KPV is generally well-tolerated at therapeutic doses. Mild GI symptoms including bloating or loose stool have been reported in a small number of patients during initial oral dosing, which typically resolves as the body adjusts. Topical formulations may cause transient skin irritation at the application site. Report any unusual or persistent symptoms to your provider.

Who should not use KPV?

KPV is not appropriate for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as safety data in these populations is insufficient. Patients with a history of melanoma or hormone-sensitive cancers should not use KPV without thorough provider evaluation. Those with active systemic infections require individualized provider review before starting. KPV is not indicated for patients under 18. Disclose your full medical history and current medications before starting treatment.

Are there any drug interactions?

Formal drug interaction studies for KPV have not been conducted. Patients on immunosuppressive medications, corticosteroids, or biologic agents for autoimmune conditions should disclose concomitant use with their provider, as anti-inflammatory effects may be additive. Those on antibiotics or antifungals should discuss concurrent use given KPV's antimicrobial activity. Always provide a complete medication list before beginning treatment.

Is KPV safe if I have a pre-existing medical condition?

Patients with a history of melanoma should not use KPV without thorough oncological and provider evaluation. Those with IBD, Crohn's disease, or ulcerative colitis may be strong candidates but require provider supervision. Patients with active autoimmune conditions on immunomodulatory therapy require careful review before adding KPV. Your provider requires a complete medical history before prescribing.
