Overview

Azelaic Acid + Benzoyl Peroxide

Clindamycin + Niacinamide

Tretinoin

Targets core mechanisms of acne vulgaris simultaneously: bacterial colonization, follicular hyperkeratinization, sebum dysregulation, and inflammation. This formula clears active lesions, prevents new breakouts, and progressively restores skin tone and texture.

Mechanism of Action

Benzoyl peroxide kills Cutibacterium acnes through oxidative stress without promoting antibiotic resistance. Clindamycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis and reduces the inflammatory cascade. Tretinoin normalizes follicular keratinization and accelerates cell turnover to clear existing lesions and prevent new comedone formation.

Topical Application

Applied to face nightly as directed. Sun protection required during daytime.

Benefits

Clears Active Breakouts

Clears active acne and prevents new breakouts by targeting bacteria, clogged pores, and inflammation simultaneously.

Inflammation Control

Clindamycin and azelaic acid reduce the inflammatory cascade that turns blocked pores into red, painful lesions.

Healing

Tretinoin accelerates cell turnover to clear lesions faster and fade post-acne marks, while azelaic acid fades post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Barrier Repair

Niacinamide regulates sebum production and reinforces the skin barrier compromised by acne-related inflammation and irritation.

Confidence

Clearer skin directly impacts self-image, social confidence, and daily comfort.

FAQs

Does Clear Revive require a prescription?

Yes. This formula contains tretinoin and clindamycin, both of which require a valid prescription from a licensed provider.

What are the possible side effects?

Expect dryness, peeling, redness, and a purging phase during weeks 1-4. Tretinoin increases sun sensitivity, requiring daily SPF. Prolonged clindamycin use can promote antibiotic resistance, which benzoyl peroxide is included to prevent.

Who Should Not Use Clear Revive?

Avoid during pregnancy due to tretinoin. Not recommended for patients with inflammatory bowel disease or a history of Clostridioides difficile, as clindamycin carries a rare risk of C. difficile-associated diarrhea.

Are there any drug interactions?

Benzoyl peroxide deactivates tretinoin on contact. Apply them at separate times or use this pre-combined formula as directed. Clindamycin may interact with neuromuscular blocking agents. Disclose all medications to your provider.

Is Clear Revive safe if I have a pre-existing medical condition?

Patients with inflammatory bowel disease, C. difficile history, or known retinoid sensitivity require provider evaluation before starting. Tretinoin is contraindicated in pregnancy.
